Together, we will journey to Africa and visit the musical village of Abayomi, each time with a different group of participants. In this Spirit of Rhythm session, old and new friends will welcome choreographer Sammy Gian. Sammy comes from Kenya to teach African dances and help children connect with the rhythm that lies within them. |

Sammy Gian is a dancer and choreographer from Kenya with extensive experience and expertise in teaching and staging dance performances. His academic career began with a degree in Performing Arts (MID – Moving into Dance Mophatong) in South Africa, while his professional career spans over 15 years as a choreographer, dance teacher, and performer in various countries in Africa (Kenya, South Africa, Mozambique) and Europe (Italy, Norway, Switzerland). His style blends elements of modern dance techniques with African dance and rhythm, including afrobeat and afrofusion. He draws inspiration from contemporary music and culture, integrating these influences with traditional elements.
