Photography Exhibition by Nana Karamagioli and Platon Rivellis as part of the established exhibition series
Photographic Pairs presents the work of two photographers and members of the Photographic Circle whose life or photographic paths intersect in some way. They may be relatives or inseparable friends. Their photographic subjects may coincide, or their artistic approaches may be similar. They may also be connected through the essential differences found in seemingly similar work.
The twelfth exhibition in the series, held at the Hellenic American Union, features photographs by Nana Karamagioli and Platon Rivellis.
As the exhibition’s curator, Panos Rozakis, notes: "In the photographs displayed across the two spaces of the gallery, the distinct perspectives of two fellow travelers intersect. What connects their images is the shared time and place of their creation, as well as the occasion that inspired them — an invitation by the cultural services of Cyprus for a ten-day photographic journey across the island in the spring of 1997. What distinguishes them is the refraction of that shared place through the prism of their individual selves."
