A special workshop for adults inspired by the apartment building
Within the framework of the parallel actions of the exhibition “Polykatoikia”, presented at the Galleries of the Hellenic American Union, curated by Nikos Vatopoulos and Iris Kritikou, we invite you to an embroidery workshop. The activity was designed and is presented by Iris Kritikou and Dimitra Konstantinidi, participating visual artist.
The two-hour workshop is addressed to all those who wish to engage in dialogue and share their personal life experience in the Greek apartment building: life between the public and the private, the visible and the invisible, the collective and the individual. After a short tour of the exhibition, participants, with the help of the two facilitators, will share personal memories, experiences and living narratives, which they will then depict using needle and thread under the guidance of Dimitra Konstantinidi, presenting their own perception of the apartment building that constitutes the basic material of the city.
A collective work and small separate “embroidered” notes will be the keepsakes of this workshop.
