Open discussion within the historical exhibition «Larissa mea dulcissima. My Dearest Larissa», curated by Louiza Karapidaki

This event aims to extend and illuminate the rich collection of documents and artifacts from the collections of Nikolaos Ath. Papatheodorou, offering perspectives on the dense historical and factual material of the exhibition. Larissa and the wider region of Thessaly emerge as a historical space reflecting the main and shared trajectories of Hellenism—from the Enlightenment of the 18th century to the liberation in the 19th century and subsequent modern development.

Participants in the discussion include:

Nikos Karapidakis, Emeritus Professor, Ionian University, Director of the magazine Nea Estia: “Private Collections: From Their History to Their Preservation”

Chariton Karanasios, Director, Center for Research of Medieval and Modern Hellenism, Academy of Athens: “The Modern Greek Enlightenment in Thessaly”

Nikos Vatopoulos, Journalist and Author: “The Case of Nikolaos Ath. Papatheodorou and the Identity of Larissa”

Louiza Karapidaki, Art Historian and Curator of the Exhibition: “From a Vast Collection to a Structured Narrative: The Collection of Nikolaos Ath. Papatheodorou”
