Words (can) do it: H. Garouniatis and D. Chatzicharalampous

Presentation

Hellenic American Union Theater

At the second "Words (can) do it" meeting for 2024, we explore poetry through the eyes of Haris Garouniatis and Dimitris Chatzicharalambous

This is the 16th "Words (can) do it" event in the “1 + 1” format, where two poets read both older and newer poems of theirs, share poems they love, and engage in a dialogue with each other and the audience.

The moon is waning. / As it passes over our bewildered balconies / it reminds us that, sooner or later / all lofty questions will descend // into the depths of their absences. [1]

As the players’ sleep deepens / the scattered playing cards tremble / upon the table. / The crown glimmers / the feather, the gestures — / now a sword / now the axe in hand. [2]
