A special cultural event exploring the life and legacy of Edward Steichen, one of the most influential creative figures of the 20th century

The Hellenic American Union and the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg present a cultural event dedicated to Edward Steichen (1879–1973), an iconic figure in modern art and photography. Renowned as a photographer, painter, curator, designer, and horticulturist, Steichen played a pivotal role in shaping the artistic and cultural landscape of the 20th century.

Paul Lesch, Commissioner for the Edward Steichen Collections at Luxembourg’s Ministry of Culture, will offer insights into the artist’s life, work, and connection with Greece through landmark works such as The Acropolis (1920), created during Steichen’s stay in Athens.
