After its initial presentation at the European Cultural Center of Delphi in mid-June, the exhibition I was a child in '21 travels to the Bouzianis Museum in Dafni (Athens). The exhibition opens on September 13, 2021, at 19:00.
I was a child in '21 features student artworks about the heroes of 1821 and their life during those times. Also presented are works by 38 Greek artists who were inspired by the theme. The exhibition is complimented by Gisis Papagerogiou's original designs of Greek traditional costumes of Thesprotia from the collection of the Hellenic American Union, handmade original copies of actual traditional costumes by Panagiota Panou, and archival material from the Hellenic General State Archives on children during the pre-revolutionary and revolutionary period.
The exhibition is organized by Dafni's 5th Elementary School, the First Directorate of Primary Education of Athens, the Museum of Greek Children's Art and the Sports and Culture Organization of the Municipality of Dafni-Ymittos, in collaboration with the General State Archives, the Hellenic American Union and the Municipality of Dafni-Ymittos. The exhibition is being held under the auspices of the Greece 2021 Committee.
