HAU at the 2nd Burlington Community Festival: Where Learning Takes the Spotlight

Technolopolis, Gazi

The Hellenic American Union students brought a vibrant and dynamic presence to the 2nd Burlington Community Festival, held on March 8th, 2026 at Technopolis in Gazi. Stepping confidently onto the stage of the Miltiadis Evert Amphitheatre, our students performed selected scenes from Socks on the Loose: Nothing to Lose; a theatrical play that they co-created with their teachers as playwrights and directors.

Drawing inspiration from the book Ten Socks (four right and six left) in incredible adventures, they reimagined its stories as vibrant theatrical adventures, exploring themes of diversity, acceptance, and collaboration.* Through movement, voice, stage presence, and a touch of humor, they demonstrated what learning can become when creativity takes the lead.

The energy, however, extended far beyond the stage. Throughout the festival, our students took part in a wide range of activities, presenting class projects that showcased the power of multimodal expression and hands-on learning.

Our participation in the festival is yet another reflection of our commitment to meaningful, creative education and to empowering students to express themselves, explore new ideas, and grow.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their creativity and commitment, and deeply thankful to their parents for their trust and unwavering support. We look forward to many more moments where learning takes center stage.

*The whole play will be presented at the end-of-the-year event at the Hellenic American Union theater.
