Stelios Eftsathopoulos’ photo exhibition Athens, within reveals stories of everyday life which often go unnoticed. The series captures the ephemeral gestures, looks, and stance of his protagonists as they vanish into the bustle of the city. In these snapshots, Stelios Efstathopoulos attempts to show different aspects of contemporary reality in an effort to renew the long tradition of street photography. Efstathopoulos’ photos strike a fine balance between the discontent and inner tenderness that we feel for today’s Athens. Curator: Hercules Papaioannou (Museum of Photography Thessaloniki).

The photographer will give guided tours on
Monday, March 21 and Wednesday, March 30, at 19:00.

A panel discussion will take place on the occasion of the exhibition entitled: "Photography and Reality".
The panel discussion will take place on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, from 18:00-21:00.
Speakers: Dimosthenis Agrafiotis (visual artist, writer), Giorgos Depollas (photographer), Stelios Efstathopoulos (photographer), Hercules Papaioannou (curator of the Museum of Photography Thessaloniki) and Takis Tzimas (Professor at the Athens Technological Institute, director of Photographos magazine).
