Presentation of the volume Ars Poetica, published by the Hellenic American Union, in cooperation with the Organizing Committee of the International Poetry Translation Workshop....

The poetic book Ars Poetica presents the outcome of the First Meeting of the International Poetry Translation Workshop which took place at the House of Literature in Lefkes of Paros in August 2011. This is a translation workshop, where English-speaking and Greek-speaking poets meet once a year to translate their poems and discuss in general their poetic work. In this volume eleven poets, who participated in the workshop, are being presented while thirteen translators have worked on the translation of their poems. New and old poets, such as Edward Smallfield, Valerie Koulton, Andrew Maxwell from the United States, Ivan Hristov from Bulgaria, Harriet Sandilands from the United Kingdom, the Greek American Adrianne Kalfopoulou and Stamatis Polenakis, Katerina Iliopoulou, Krystalli Glyniadakis, Socrates Kabouropoulos, Vassilis Manoussakis from Greece are among the poets, whose work has been translated during this workshop.
