Poetic encounters: Words (can) do it
Event dedicated to Kostas Karyotakis within the framework of “Athens 2018 World Book Capital - City of Athens”…

On the occasion of the 90-year mark since the death of Kostas Karyotakis (1896–1928), a prominent poet of the 1920s generation, and centering around 1922 Tellos Agras’s reader Oi Neoi (The Young Ones), showcasing Young Greek Poets of the 1910s, the event aims to shed new light on the work of Kostas Karyotakis and his contemporary peers. Thirteen present-day poets will be selecting, reading and commenting on one poem by Karyotakis and one by one of his peers each.
Participating poets include: Orfeas Apergis, Anna Griva, Panayotis Ioannidis, Lena Kallergi, Theoni Kotini, Dimitra Kotoula, Alekos Lountzis, Pavlina Marvin, Alexandra Plastira, Christos Siorikis, Yorgos Spanos, Nandy Chatzigeorgiou and Dimitris Houliarakis.
