A piano recital with the highly acclaimed American pianist David Johnson who will play works by J.S. Bach, Béla Bartók, Claude Debussy, Ludwig van Beethoven and Robert Schumann....

Born in San Pedro, California, David Johnson received his Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Redlands, California, where he studied with Louanne Fuchs. He pursued further studies with Isabelle Byman at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he earned his Masters with distinction. In 1980 he gave a highly successful New York debut, which was praised in The New York Times and many other recitals followed on both sides of the Atlantic, all to critical acclaim. He has worked several years with Carola Grindea in London in the area of musical interpretation as well as the importance for pianists of coping with and eliminating physical tension when playing. In July, 2005, he was honored for his work by the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe. He lives in Berkshire County in Massachusetts (USA).
