“those little anodynes” parallel events
The visual arts exhibition “those little anodynes” includes an event dedicated to Emily Dickinson and guided tours…

As part of the exhibition titled “those little anodynes” by artists Eleni Theofilaktou and Eva Marathraki, and curated by Gelly Grindaki, a program of parallel events has been organized.
The program features:
- An event on the occasion of the 185th anniversary of the birth of E. Dickinson:
Thursday, December 10, 2015, 19:00
The event will begin with a performance by Eleni Theofilaktou, entitled “White on White”, inspired by Dickinson’s poetry, followed by a poetry reading organized in cooperation with the monthly poetic encounters “Words (can) do it”. Anna Griva, Katerina Iliopoulou, Lenia Zafiropoulou, Panayotis Ioannidis, Dimitra Kotoula, Pavlina Marvin, Iana Bukova, Alexandra Plastira, Christos Siorikis, Danai Sioziou and Maria Topali will read Dickinson’s poems, in Greek, and their own poems specially written for this event, thus forming a “dialogue” with the great American poet. A first performance of Dickinson’s poems put to music by composer and pianist Alexandra Papastefanou will follow, and will be sung by the soprano Lenia Zafiropoulou. The event will close with a discussion between 11 poets and the artists - Eleni Theofilaktou and Eva Marathaki - about the relationship between their works and Dickinson’s poetry. Gelly Grindaki and Panayotis Ioannidis will moderate the discussion.
