Piano and Cello Recital

Michael Heupel and Marcos Kotsias perform works by Robert Schumann, Manuel de Falla, Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Fauré, Sergei Rachmaninov, Dmitri Shostakovich and Nikos Skalkotas.

Michael Heupel was born in Athens in 1988 and received his diploma in violincello in 2006 from the Contemporary Conservatory of Athens with Distinction, as well as the First Prize and the Gold Metal of the Conservatory. In the same year he was accepted into Tilmann Wick’s class at the Music University of Hanover. He has given a large number of concerts in Greece, Germany, France and Switzerland. He plays in concerts given at Hanover’s Music University, and has played as a soloist and as first cello in orchestras conducted by important conductors, as well as in many chamber music concerts.

Marcos Kotsias was born in Athens in 1986 and received his diploma in piano in 2008 with Distinction and won the Conservatory’s First Prize . In the same year he won First Prize in the YAMAHA contest and was accepted in Andre Marchand’s class at the Stuttgart Music Academy. He has played in concerts in Greece and Germany.
